Ben Hogan, a legend in American golf, famously said, “The most important shot in golf, as in life, is the next one.” The same goes for families and churches. Of course, all generations are important and have their own roles, but from a missionary strategic perspective, the next generation, especially children and youth under the age of 15, are very important. This is because they are the generation that will most quickly accept the gospel and most effectively share it with others. Here is a famous statistic that supports this.
However, when we look at the minutes of the mission conferences, big and small, held over the past 100 years, we are saddened by the fact that “the importance and urgency of missions to children and youth” was never mentioned even once. This is because both ministry and missions were focused only on adults.” Then, in 2008, the world-renowned mission strategist Dr. Louis Bush and the Vietnam missionary pastor Rev. Nam-soo Kim met in New York, and the “World Evangelization Strategy through Next Generation Missions” was born. The following year, in September 2009, the first Global Summit Conference was held at the New York Promise Church, and it was officially introduced to the world under the name of the “9/1 Window Movement.” We cannot express how thankful we are that this movement has helped to put together the “last puzzle” piece that had been missing for the past 4 years. Today’s “Next Gen” has two faces. On one side, it is the dream of the family, the future of the church, and the hope of the nation and society. But if you look at the other side, it has been God's tears and sorrow for a long time.
This movement has spread like a wild fire across the five oceans and six continents since its launch, without a headquarters, organization, or even a single representative contact point. This shows how much God is pleased with this movement. I hope that through this newly renovated website, we can share with you the extraordinary things God, the subject of missions, has done through ordinary people over the past 10 years. Mara Natah!
